Special Feature: #22 Michigan @ Michigan State

A resurrected Michigan football program looks to improve to 5-0 by heading to Spartan Stadium to take on the 1-3 Michigan State Spartans. 77% of yahoo users predict that Michigan will defeat their in-state rival on the road. Still, the point spread has moved from Michigan -1.0 all the way to Michigan +3. Why?

Clearly, the majority of bettors will place money on Michigan. Tate Forcier’s name has even started to come up in conversations about Heisman favorites. 77% of the general public believes the Wolverines will win outright. Yet the line is still moving in the direction to entice people to take Michigan. The only explanation is that somebody has a lot to gain by Michigan St. winning on Saturday. Could it be a wealthy bettor or group of bettors who placed so much money on Michigan State that Vegas is desperate to get some action on Michigan? Possibly. I have my own rationalization, however.

I believe that “the house” has some inside information on why Michigan State will win on Saturday. It may be as obvious an explanation that the game’s officials have an interest in ensuring a Michigan State win. Think about it. A friendly home crowd, a very suspicious point spread, what about this game doesn’t scream to you, “STAY AWAY THIS GAME IS RIGGED.” I’m by no means a conspiracy theorist in Sports. My advice though, stay away from this game- and EXPECT calls to favor the Spartans. Looking forward to a great game on Saturday.

  1. Don't think the refs threw that pick in the endzone in OT. Maybe Vegas knew the weather would be shitty which would slow down Michigan's option and spread?
